Real experiences from families who’ve had Maple Run stay with their pets at home.

Patty - dog mom

Nugget

“Nugget has a ton of energy. Maple Run handled him like a pro—walks, play, and downtime—and I came home to a happy, tired pup instead of a wild man.”

Lizzie - cat mom

Ralph & Nelly

“Both cats were completely themselves while I was away—eating, sleeping, and demanding cuddles on schedule. Maple Run followed my notes, sent just the right amount of updates, and I never had to worry.”

Fiona - senior pup mom

Bennett

“Bennett is older and needs a lot of attention and reassurance. Maple Run was so gentle with him, kept his routine exact, and made sure he was never alone for long. It felt like leaving him with family.”

Shy - cat parent

Cookie Monster

“My fluffy void is usually pretty suspicious of new people, so I was nervous to travel. By the second day they were following Maple Run around the house and hanging out on the couch. That says everything.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of pet sitting do you offer?

Maple Run is in-home, overnight pet sitting. That means we stay at your house, keep your pets in their own space, and follow the routines they already know. This is not boarding, daycare, or quick drop-ins only.

How does booking work?

We start with a short, free in-home meet and greet. If it feels like a good fit on both sides, we:- Confirm your dates
- Send a simple service agreement
- Ask you to complete written care instructions
Once those are done, your booking is officially on the calendar.

Where do you offer pet sitting?

Maple Run is based in the Western Catskills, near Roxbury. We usually work within about a 30-minute drive, including towns like Margaretville, Arkville, Grand Gorge, Stamford, Hobart, Prattsville, Bovina Center, South Kortright, Halcottsville, and nearby hamlets. If you’re not sure you’re in range, just ask.

How does your pricing work?

Maple Run uses a simple, flexible overnight structure. For stays of four consecutive nights or fewer, you choose your rate: Community ($60), Standard ($80), or Supporter ($100) per night. We do not typically charge per pet.For stays longer than four nights, nights one through four follow your selected tier. Beginning on night five, the rate automatically moves to $100 per night.Certain holiday dates and long-weekend periods are also billed at the $100 nightly rate. Details are outlined below so there are no surprises. Our goal is to keep pricing transparent, fair, and easy to understand while maintaining limited, intentional availability.

What if my trip is longer than four nights?

Overnight bookings include up to four consecutive nights at your selected rate ($60, $80, or $100 per night).Beginning on night five, the rate automatically moves to $100 per night. Because Maple Run is intentionally limited-capacity and owner-operated, extended stays reduce availability for other households and shift to the Supporter rate starting on night five. We’ll always review timing together before confirming your stay so there are no surprises.

Do holidays cost more?

Yes. Certain dates and long-weekend periods are billed at the $100 nightly rate due to limited availability and increased travel demand. The following individual dates are billed at $100 per night:– Independence Day
– Thanksgiving Day
– Christmas Eve
– Christmas Day
– New Year’s Eve
In addition, the following long weekends (Friday–Monday) are billed at $100 per night:– Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend
– Presidents’ Day Weekend
– Memorial Day Weekend
– Labor Day Weekend
– Indigenous Peoples’ Day / Columbus Day Weekend
All other nights follow the standard Community / Standard / Supporter structure.Availability during holiday periods is limited.

How do you count nights and partial days?

All bookings are priced by the night. An overnight stay covers a 24-hour window. If we arrive in the morning or early afternoon on Day 1, care continues through the same time on your final day.We allow a 1–2 hour grace window on your return day. If we need to stay beyond that window, a flat $35 half-day rate will be added. We’ll always review timing together during the meet and greet so there are no surprises.

Do you charge extra for multiple pets or medications?

No, not by default. Normal meds and a few pets in the same household are included in your nightly rate. If care is unusually complex (many pets, multiple detailed medical routines), we’ll talk through it after the meet and greet and confirm a rate together.

Do you stay at the house the whole time?

Yes. This is live-in care, so the plan is to actually stay at your home during your trip, not just stop by. We may step out for short errands or to care for our own life nearby, but your pets are not left alone for long stretches and nights are spent at your house unless we’ve clearly agreed otherwise.

How often will I get updates?

We’ll decide that together. Some people like a daily photo and quick note. Others prefer a check-in every couple of days. We’ll match your comfort level so you feel informed without being glued to your phone.

What if my pet is shy, reactive, or has quirks?

That’s okay. The meet and greet is where we see how everyone feels in person and talk through any behavior stuff: anxiety, reactivity, guarding, routines, or triggers. As long as we both feel it’s safe and manageable with clear instructions, we’re happy to work with quirks.

Do we need to sign anything?

Yes. We use a short, plain-language service agreement plus your written care instructions. Both are there to make sure expectations are clear on routines, home care, emergency vet decisions, and payment.

How do I pay?

After we confirm your dates and rate, I’ll send you a total for the stay. For most sits, payment is due on the first day of your trip. You can:- Leave cash or a check
- Pay electronically (Venmo or online invoice) with a 3% processing fee added to cover card/payment fees.
For longer stays, we may set up a simple deposit and balance schedule so your dates are fully held. All of that is spelled out clearly before your trip starts.

What if my plans change or I need to cancel?

Life happens. If you need to change or cancel, please let us know as soon as possible. For standard bookings, cancellation expectations are outlined in your service agreement so there are no surprises. For holiday and long-weekend bookings, cancellations made within 14 days of the stay may result in forfeiture of a deposit due to limited rebooking availability. We’ll always communicate clearly and aim to be fair.

Are you insured?

Yes. Maple Run carries professional pet sitting insurance, including general liability and care, custody, and control coverage for pets in our care.

How far in advance should I book?

Holiday and long-weekend dates often fill several months in advance. Early planning is recommended, especially for summer and fall travel.

I have another question?

No problem! Just send an email to [email protected], and we'll get back to you asap!

We don’t just pet sit.
Instead, we stay in.

Maple Run is in-home pet sitting for dogs and cats in the Western Catskills. Based near Roxbury, we stay at your house while you’re away so your pets can stay in theirs. We follow your routines, keep things calm, and send updates so you can actually enjoy your time off. From weekends in Margaretville or Grand Gorge to longer trips out of Stamford, Hobart, and nearby towns, the goal is simple: care that feels like you never left, with pricing that meets people where they’re at.

Our Vision

To keep pets at home, one trip at a time.

Maple Run exists so more families in the Western Catskills can travel without worrying about their animals. We believe most pets do best in their own space, on their own couch, with their own food bowls and windowsills. The vision is simple: make in-home care easy to access, easy to afford, and something people feel good about choosing.

Our Mission

In-home care with routine, and real trust.

Our mission is to offer live-in pet sitting that feels thoughtful, not transactional. That means detailed written instructions, clear communication, and a sliding scale of nightly rates: Community, Standard, and Supporter. The care never changes based on what you pay. Choosing the higher tiers simply helps keep the community rate, and our monthly support for Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, going.

From a favor for friends all the way to Maple Run.

Maple Run started the same way a lot of good things do out here: “Hey, could you stay with our pets while we’re gone?” After hearing too many stories about how hard it was to find a reliable in-home sitter in the Western Catskills, the answer kept being yes.Over time, those favors turned into a clear pattern. Families in and around Roxbury needed someone who could actually move in, keep routines steady, and not flinch at muddy paws, zoomies, or complicated feeding charts. Maple Run grew out of that gap — a small, flexible service built for real-life pets and real-life schedules.

Still small, hands-on, but also dependable.

Maple Run is intentionally small. Right now, it’s one sitter, one helper, a limited calendar, and a handful of households at a time. That lets us say yes only when we can show up fully — not squeeze your pets between a dozen other stops. As demand grows, we may add a few trusted sitters who share the same approach: detailed notes, calm energy, and the kind of care you’d want for your own animals. But the core won’t change. Maple Run will always be about in-home stays, steady routines, and leaving both pets and people better than we found them.

Meet the crew behind Maple Run.

When we’re not staying with other people’s pets, we’re hanging out with our own. They’re the unofficial test panel for every routine, treat, and cuddle schedule.

Baylor, Chief Couch Supervisor

Professional napper, expert snuggler, and first to remind us how important it is to keep the couch warm while you’re away.

Macaroni, Night Shift Manager

Most active after dark, ideal for testing late-night check-ins and lap time. Proof that a good sitter never minds a midnight purr.

Cheese, Quality Control (Snacks)

Takes treats very seriously. Makes sure all food routines are timed correctly and that nothing goes unappreciated.

Chessipa, Snack Intern (in training under Cheese)

Newest member of the Maple Run crew. Currently learning all snack protocols from Cheese, with enthusiasm that sometimes outruns accuracy. Very committed to treat breaks, morale boosting, and shadowing the senior Quality Control officer.
